How to Download and Install Microsoft Office on Windows (done)

This guide will walk you through downloading and installing Microsoft Office on a Windows PC using the method recommended by GetRenewedTech. Please follow the steps carefully, as using the correct installer is important to make sure your licence key works properly.

Important: Use the Download Link From Your Order Email

Do not download Office directly from Microsoft’s website. Microsoft’s website usually installs Microsoft 365, which is a subscription product and uses a different type of key.

Always use the download link provided in your GetRenewedTech order confirmation email.

What You Will Need

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

• Your 25-character product key from your order confirmation email
• The Office download link from your order confirmation email
• A stable internet connection
• At least 4GB of free disk space

Installation Steps

Method 1: Direct Installer

This is the recommended installation method for most customers.

1. Click the download link in your order confirmation email to download the Office installer file, such as Office_2024_EN_64Bits.exe
2. Once the file has finished downloading, right-click it and select Run as Administrator
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Office
4. The installation may take several minutes to complete
5. Once installation has finished, open any Office application, such as Word
6. Go to File > Account > Change Product Key
7. Enter your 25-character product key
8. Click Activate

Method 2: Office Tool Plus

If the direct installer does not work, or if you need to completely remove and reinstall Office, you can use Office Tool Plus.

Download Office Tool here:

1. Download the OfficeTool.zip file
2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your desktop or in your Downloads folder
3. Open the extracted folder
4. Run Office Tool Plus
5. If prompted to install .NET Runtime, install it first, then reopen the tool
6. Follow the on-screen steps to download and install Office

If you need to remove a previous Office installation first:

1. Open Office Tool Plus
2. Click Toolbox on the left-hand side
3. Next to Remove Office, click Remove
4. Once Office has been removed, restart the installation process using the correct installer from your order email

After Installation: Activate Your Licence

Once Office has been installed:

1. Open Word, or any other Office app
2. Go to File > Account > Change Product Key
3. If prompted, sign out of any Microsoft account before entering your key
4. Enter your 25-character product key
5. Click Activate

If online activation does not work, use the telephone activation method instead.

32-bit and 64-bit Versions

The 64-bit version of Office is recommended for most users.

If the installer tells you that the 64-bit version cannot be installed because an existing 32-bit Office component is already present on your system, use the 32-bit installer link from your order confirmation email instead.
