What Is Included in an AutoCAD License? (Toolsets & Versions)

What You Get With an AutoCAD Licence

An AutoCAD licence from GetRenewedTech gives you access to more than just the standard AutoCAD application. Depending on the version available in your Autodesk account, your licence can include access to multiple AutoCAD releases as well as a range of specialist toolsets.

Versions Included

Your AutoCAD licence will typically give you access to multiple supported versions through your Autodesk account.

This means you may be able to download and install more than one version, depending on what is currently available under your Autodesk subscription. You are not limited to using just one version, and in many cases multiple versions can be installed at the same time if needed.

Specialised Toolsets Included

A full AutoCAD licence can include access to a range of industry-specific toolsets designed for different workflows.

These may include:

  • AutoCAD Architecture for architectural drafting and building components
  • AutoCAD Electrical for electrical controls and schematic design
  • AutoCAD MEP for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing workflows
  • AutoCAD Map 3D for mapping and GIS-based work
  • AutoCAD Mechanical for mechanical design and engineering
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D for plant design, piping, and P&ID work
  • AutoCAD Raster Design for working with raster images inside AutoCAD

These toolsets are usually installed as separate applications or made available as part of your AutoCAD access, depending on the product and version.

Does AutoCAD Include AutoCAD LT?

Your AutoCAD access may also include AutoCAD LT, which is a lighter version designed mainly for 2D drafting.

AutoCAD LT does not include the full 3D functionality or the specialist toolsets available with the full version of AutoCAD, so if you need advanced features or industry-specific tools, you should use the full AutoCAD package.

Windows and Mac Availability

On Windows, the full AutoCAD application and the widest range of toolsets are generally available.

On Mac, the base AutoCAD application is available, but some specialist toolsets may be Windows-only. Availability can vary depending on the specific toolset and version.

How to Access Your AutoCAD Downloads

Once your licence has been assigned to your Autodesk account:

  1. Sign in to your Autodesk account
  2. Go to the Products and Services section
  3. Find your AutoCAD product listing
  4. Click Download
  5. Choose the version you want to install
  6. Select any available toolsets if they are listed

After installation, the toolsets may appear as separate applications or as part of your AutoCAD setup depending on the product.
