32-Bit vs 64-Bit — Which Version Do I Need?

What Is the Difference?

32-bit and 64-bit refer to the type of processor and operating system your computer uses. Most modern computers run 64-bit versions of Windows.

Microsoft Office

Our Office product keys work on both 32-bit and 64-bit installations. You do not need to choose — the key will activate on whichever version you install.

If you are not sure which to install, we recommend 64-bit as it can handle larger files and more memory.

Windows Product Keys

Our Windows product keys are retail keys that work on both 32-bit and 64-bit installations of Windows.

Autodesk Products

All current Autodesk products (2023 onwards) require a 64-bit operating system. They will not run on 32-bit systems.

How to Check If Your System Is 32-Bit or 64-Bit

Windows

  1. Open Settings > System > About
  2. Under Device specifications, check the System type field
  3. It will say either "64-bit operating system" or "32-bit operating system"

Mac

All Macs from 2007 onwards use 64-bit processors. If your Mac can run macOS Catalina or later, it is 64-bit.
