How Your Revit Licence Works

When you purchase Revit from GetRenewedTech, the licence is assigned directly to your Autodesk account using the email address provided at checkout.

There is no traditional product key to enter. Instead, you download Revit from your Autodesk account and sign in with the Autodesk account the licence was assigned to.

Getting Started

Step 1: Make Sure You Have an Autodesk Account

You will need an Autodesk account to receive and use your Revit licence.

If you do not already have one, create an Autodesk account using the same email address you used when placing your order.

Step 2: Allow Time for Licence Assignment

Revit licences are manually assigned by our team.

During business hours, many assignments are completed fairly quickly, but some orders may take longer, especially outside business hours or if they go through additional security checks.

Please allow up to 12 hours before opening a ticket on our helpdesk.

Step 3: Check Your Autodesk Account

Once your licence has been assigned, sign in to your Autodesk account and go to the Products and Services section.

You should see Revit listed there once the licence is active on your account.

Step 4: Download and Install Revit

Once Revit appears in your Autodesk account:

  1. Open the Products and Services section
  2. Find Revit
  3. Click Download
  4. Run the installer
  5. Follow the on-screen installation steps

When Revit opens, sign in with your Autodesk account and the subscription should be recognised automatically.

If You Already Had a Revit Trial

If Revit was already installed and a trial was active, the paid licence may not be used straight away.

If a trial is still running, you will usually need to wait for the trial to expire first. Once it has expired:

  1. Sign out of your Autodesk account inside Revit
  2. Close Revit completely
  3. Reopen Revit
  4. Sign back in with the Autodesk account your licence was assigned to

The newly assigned licence should then begin being used.

How to Check That Your Revit Licence Is Active

To confirm your licence is active, sign in to your Autodesk account and check whether Revit appears under your available products.

If it is listed there, that normally means the licence has been assigned successfully.

If it does not appear, make sure:

  • you are signed in with the correct Autodesk account
  • enough time has passed for assignment
  • Autodesk is not having a temporary service issue

Common Error: “No Active Subscription”

If Revit shows No Active Subscription, this usually means one of the following:

  • the licence has not yet been assigned
  • you are signed in with the wrong Autodesk account
  • Autodesk is having a temporary platform issue

If this happens:

  1. Sign out of Revit
  2. Close it completely
  3. Reopen it
  4. Sign back in with the correct Autodesk account

Do not uninstall Revit just because this message appears.

When to Open a Ticket

If 12 hours have passed and:

  • Revit is still not showing in your Autodesk account
  • the software still says No Active Subscription
  • the licence appears expired
  • you are unsure whether the correct Autodesk account was used

please open a ticket on our helpdesk and include:

  • your order number
  • the email address used at checkout
  • your Autodesk account email address
  • a screenshot of the message shown, if possible

This will help our team check the assignment and assist you more quickly.
