How to Download and Install AutoCAD / Autodesk Products

After purchasing an Autodesk product from GetRenewedTech, you may be wondering where your download file or product key is.

Unlike Microsoft Office, Autodesk products do not use a product key. Instead, the licence is assigned directly to your Autodesk account, and the software itself is downloaded from Autodesk’s website.

Step 1: Create or Sign In to Your Autodesk Account

Before anything else, you will need an Autodesk account linked to the same email address used when placing your order.

• If you already have an Autodesk account using that email address, you are ready to continue
• If not, create a free Autodesk account using the same email address you used at checkout

Once your order has been processed and the licence has been assigned, the product will appear in your Autodesk account.

Step 2: Allow Time for Licence Assignment

Autodesk orders are manually assigned by our team and are not delivered as instant download keys.

During business hours, most Autodesk orders are assigned within a short time, but some orders may take longer, especially if placed outside business hours or if they go through additional security checks.

Please allow up to 12 hours before opening a ticket on our helpdesk.

Step 3: Sign In to Your Autodesk Account

Once your order has been assigned, sign in to your Autodesk account.

After signing in, go to the Products and Services section. Your assigned product, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Fusion 360, or Maya, should appear there.

If the product does not appear straight away, sign out fully and then sign back in again before checking once more.

Step 4: Download and Install the Software

Autodesk software is downloaded directly from Autodesk, not from the GetRenewedTech website.

Once your product appears in your Autodesk account:

1. Open the Products and Services section
2. Find your assigned product
3. Click Download
4. Select the version and operating system you want
5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen steps

When the software launches and asks you to sign in, use your Autodesk account details. The software should then recognise your assigned licence automatically.

Common Questions

Do I get a product key?

No. Autodesk products do not use a product key in the same way Microsoft products do. Your licence is assigned directly to your Autodesk account.

Do I download the software from GetRenewedTech?

No. GetRenewedTech assigns the licence, but Autodesk hosts the installer. You will download the software directly through your Autodesk account.

Can I install it on more than one computer?

You can install Autodesk software on more than one computer, but the licence is intended for use by one assigned user at a time, subject to Autodesk’s account and licensing rules.

What if I already have an Autodesk trial installed?

If you already have an Autodesk trial active, you will need to wait for the trial to expire first. Once it has expired, sign out of the Autodesk software and then sign back in again. The newly assigned licence should then begin being used.

If your Autodesk product is still not showing in your account after 12 hours, please open a ticket on our helpdesk and include:

• Your order number
• The email address used at checkout
• The Autodesk account email address
• A short description of the issue
